Everyone knows that feeding breast milk to babies not only has many benefits for the baby's development, but also reduces a lot of unnecessary troubles for mothers. But things don't go as planned. In fact, many mothers don't have enough milk to feed their babies. What can mothers eat to promote lactation?

In the traditional Chinese method of inducing lactation for postpartum women, it is generally believed that stewed pig's trotters and crucian carp with Tongcao (a plant) is a good way to induce lactation.

      1. Carp porridge

Remove the scales and internal organs of a fresh carp (about 500 grams), cut into small pieces, and cook porridge with white rice or millet. Do not add salt to the porridge and eat it lightly. For example, if you use a carp to make soup, add a little soy sauce, but no salt, and eat the meat and drink the soup, the lactation-inducing effect will also be good.

      2. Pork Bone Tongcao Soup

Take 500 grams of pork bones (cavity bones, ribs, or leg bones), 6 grams of Tongcao, add appropriate amount of water, simmer for 2 hours to get about 1 small bowl of pork bone soup, add a little oil, drink it once, once a day, and take it for 3-5 days.

      3. Crucian carp soup

Take 500 grams of fresh crucian carp, remove the scales and internal organs, add 60 grams of soybean sprouts (or 6 grams of Tongcao, available in traditional Chinese medicine stores), make soup and drink it, 2 times a day, eat fish soup, and take it for 3-5 days. Crucian carp soup should be eaten lightly.

      4. Pig’s trotters and grass soup

1 pig's trotter, 3 grams of Tongcao, add appropriate amount of water, put it in a casserole and cook for 2 hours to get a bowl of pig's trotter soup, drink it in two portions. Take once a day for 3-5 days. Pig's trotters are eaten during meals.

      5. Light elbow

1 pork knuckle, 1 portion each of Angelica sinensis and Wangbuliuxing (available in traditional Chinese medicine stores), the ratio of the three is 100:2:2, stew them in water over low heat until thoroughly cooked. Meat for lunch and soup for dinner.

      6. Stewed Lean Pork with Yellow Flowers

25 grams of dried day lily (also known as daylily) and 250 grams of lean pork. Boil or stew until cooked and then serve as a dish. You can also use the same amount of day lily and pig's trotters to cook and eat together. (Dried day lily must be stewed and boiled with pork or pig's trotters to achieve the effect of smoothing the milk).
