Balanitis may be transmitted to partners, and patients need to take corresponding treatments according to different causes.

Balanitis is mostly caused by an inflammatory reaction of the glans caused by external bacterial infection. If you have sexual intercourse with your partner, the bacteria from the glans may enter the vagina through sexual intercourse, thereby infecting your partner, causing vaginitis and other diseases in women. But not all balanitis will be transmitted to your partner. If it is caused by allergic balanitis or autoimmune factors, there is no substantial causative factor and it will generally not be transmitted to your sexual partner.

If the patient has balanitis, it is recommended to actively treat it and avoid sexual intercourse until the inflammation recovers to prevent cross-infection.
