There is really no unified standard answer. You can see obvious improvement in as fast as 2 weeks, and there are many people who are still repeating it as slowly as three to five years. I have been doing skin care for so many years and have seen too many different situations. I will never just give people a guarantee and say "how long it will take to get better."
Last month, I met a little girl who had just finished her postgraduate entrance examination. She stayed up late studying for more than half a year and developed inflammatory red pimples on her face. She adjusted her schedule and went to bed early, and applied mild benzoyl peroxide gel every day. In just over a week, her pimples had shrunk. After two weeks, even the red pimples had faded by half. She went out without makeup and could hardly tell that her face had been damaged before.
But if you take this case as a standard, it will be too easy to get into trouble. I have an old customer who has been following me for almost 4 years. In the early years, I followed the trend of acid treatment and applied Internet celebrity hydrating masks every day, which turned my face into a severely sensitive skin with seborrheic dermatitis. The barrier was so thin that when I entered a heated room in winter, my face became red and rash occurred when I was exposed to the sun for ten minutes in summer. During my conditioning last year, I didn’t dare to use any functional products, so I only used repair cream and saline on my face to keep it stable. It took me almost two years to gradually use some mild brightening products. Only this year I finally dared to wear light makeup normally, without irritating my skin every time I remove makeup.
There are currently two opinions on the Internet that are very quarrelsome. One says that the skin metabolism cycle is 28 days, and all problems can be solved in 28 days. The other says that skin conditioning is all an IQ tax, and all problems can only be solved by oneself. Both of these are actually quite extreme. 28 days is the epidermal metabolism cycle of healthy and young skin. If you only have minor problems on the epidermis, such as occasional acne or short-term tanning, you can indeed see obvious changes by following the metabolic cycle. However, if the dermis has been damaged, such as acne pits, deep chloasma, or the barrier is severely damaged, or you have a hormonal face, just waiting for 28 days is definitely not enough. You may even aggravate the problem by trying quick-acting products indiscriminately. It’s not right to say that it’s completely useless. A customer who had hormone facial treatment has been following the correct method for three years, and now his skin condition is more stable than many people with healthy skin who have never had any treatment.
In fact, caring for the skin is not much different from raising a potted plant. If you forget to water the plant and it languishes for two days, water it thoroughly and put it in a cool place for two or three days to recover. If the roots are rotten and there are insects, you need to repair the roots, change the soil, and eliminate insects first. It will take more than half a year to grow again. There is no unified recovery timetable. If you really want to know how long it will take for your skin to be healed, it is better to find a reliable person to help you look at the current condition of your skin, and then find out whether you have used any strong medicines or performed any tricks before. It is much more practical than just asking how long it will take to heal.
