Increased leucorrhea may be one of the symptoms of imminent menstruation.
During the menstrual cycle, vaginal secretions will change regularly as estrogen levels change. Usually 1-2 weeks before menstruation, due to increased estrogen secretion and strong cervical mucus secretion, leucorrhea may increase in volume and become thin and transparent in texture. This physiological increase in leucorrhea is usually odorless and accompanied by a slight feeling of distension in the lower abdomen, which is a normal reaction in the early stages of menstruation. Some women also experience premenstrual syndrome symptoms such as breast tenderness and mood swings. If the leucorrhea appears as stringy as egg white, it often indicates that the ovulation period is about to begin, and there is still a certain time interval between menstruation and menstruation. It should be noted that pathological increased leucorrhea is often accompanied by abnormal color, odor or vulvar itching, and may be caused by gynecological diseases such as vaginitis and cervicitis. Observing the changes in the characteristics of leucorrhea should be combined with the menstrual cycle record. If the menstruation is still not coming outside the normal cycle range, it is recommended to use early pregnancy test paper to detect it.
It is recommended to choose cotton breathable underwear in daily life to avoid local moisture caused by excessive use of panty liners. To keep the vulva clean, just rinse it with warm water. There is no need to use lotion frequently. In the early stages of menstruation, you can apply heat to the lower abdomen to relieve discomfort, and reduce the intake of raw and cold irritating foods. If the leucorrhea continues to be abnormal for more than two weeks, or is accompanied by symptoms such as fever and abdominal pain, you should promptly visit a gynecologist for routine leucorrhea examination. Pay attention to avoid bathing and sexual intercourse during menstruation to prevent retrograde infection.
