I have been doing community TCM physiotherapy for almost ten years, and I have seen too many people who follow the trend of health care and make mistakes. To be honest, the core of TCM health care is the word "shun". It is not just a matter of copying the health care prescriptions of Internet celebrities and taking supplements to follow the trend and get results.
A while ago, I met a little girl in her 20s who saw a short video saying that she should drink more chrysanthemum tea to clear fire in the spring. Her hands and feet were cold all year round, and her aunt always had dysmenorrhea. After drinking it for a week, she suddenly had a cold attack and was so painful that she broke into a cold sweat while doing moxibustion. This is because she didn't understand her own constitution clearly and copied other people's health regimen.
Nowadays, there are a lot of controversies about traditional Chinese medicine health care on the Internet. Some people think that it is all unfounded metaphysics, and that "nourishing yang in spring, summer, and yin in autumn and winter" are all bluffs. Others think that the rules passed down by the ancestors are all correct, and if you follow them, you will be free from all diseases. In fact, both of these views are too extreme.
Take the "midday nap" that everyone often hears about. Many people insist on going to bed at 11pm and lying down at 11pm. However, if you are engaged in cross-border operations, you have to interact with European and American customers every day. You can't get off work at 2am, and you stay up until 11am to wait for customers to leave. If you don't want to rest, and then force yourself to get up at 7 o'clock in the morning to replenish your "yang energy", it is purely a waste of yourself. It is better to adjust your sleep cycle according to your own work rhythm, sleep for 7 and a half hours, and then eat a bowl of warm multi-grain porridge after getting up, which is much more effective than keeping in good health at a stuck time.
Some people have debated whether "eating radish in winter and ginger in summer" is pseudoscience, saying that eating ginger can easily lead to internal heat when the temperature is so high in summer. In fact, this was originally meant for people who used to drink well water to relieve the heat in the summer. Now, if you stay at 22 degrees Celsius every day In an air-conditioned room, I keep my iced milk tea and popsicles in my hand all day long. Eating some ginger in moderation can really dispel the coldness accumulated in the stomach. If you run business outdoors every day, sweat profusely in the sun and still eat ginger every time, it would be strange if you don't get angry. There is no health standard suitable for everyone.
In fact, health care in traditional Chinese medicine is like raising succulents. Some varieties are drought-tolerant, so you need to water less, and some species like shade, so don't expose them to the sun. You have to know your own foundation first, and then adjust according to the weather throughout the year and your current state. It is much more reliable than sprinkling various nutrients into the pots every day and changing flower pots randomly. To put it bluntly, there are not so many mysterious things to pay attention to. If you feel comfortable after doing something and your whole body is relaxed, then that is the health regimen that is really suitable for you.
