Menstruation is Uterus Periodic uterine bleeding from the endometrium under the action of ovarian sex hormones. On the one hand, ovarian sex hormones affect the development of the endometrium, and on the other hand, they affect the activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary gland through positive and negative feedback (ie, stimulation and inhibition). Under normal circumstances, the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary interact and restrict each other to maintain dynamic balance. This is the main regulatory mechanism of the menstrual cycle and is called the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovary axis. The activity of this axis is controlled by the cerebral cortex. Therefore, any disorder in any link from the cerebral cortex to the ovaries can disrupt the balance and lead to ovarian dysfunction, thereby affecting the endometrium and causing dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence is mostly caused by delayed maturation of the hypothalamic center that manages the synthesis and release of pituitary gonadotropins. The hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis does not function normally. Ovarian ovulation disorder occurs, and follicles develop in the ovary and can secrete estrogen but cannot mature. Estrogen levels in the blood fluctuate with the growth and shrinkage of follicles. When estrogen levels are high, endometrial hyperplasia occurs. ; When estrogen levels are low, the endometrium loses support and causes necrosis, exfoliation and bleeding.
Therefore, dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence often presents with irregular menstrual cycles, varying menstrual periods, and variable amounts of bleeding. Sometimes heavy bleeding ; Sometimes menopause occurs for a short period of time, and then the bleeding continues ; Sometimes there is irregular bleeding from the beginning ; There are also cases where the cycle is accurate, but the amount of menstrual flow increases and the menstrual period is prolonged. If the bleeding is heavy or takes a long time and is repeated, it will inevitably cause anemia . Therefore, treatment must be urgent.
The treatment principles are to correct anemia, supplement nutrition, and take appropriate rest.; Under the guidance of a doctor, use sex hormones to stop bleeding, then induce ovulation and adjust the cycle. After the disease is under control, you must pay attention to exercise , enhance physical fitness, improve healthy level, prevent excessive fatigue, avoid mental stimulation, and pay attention to menstrual hygiene to prevent recurrence.
