Drinking coffee can prevent eyelid twitching

So DeFazio, a professor at the University of Bari in Italy, and his colleagues analyzed the response of 166 patients with delayed-onset blepharospasm to cigarettes and coffee intake and compared it with 228 other patients with facial spasm.

The results showed that there was almost no relationship between smoking and the probability of disease, but coffee drinkers were less likely to suffer from delayed blepharospasm, and the disease was almost inversely proportional to coffee intake.

Researchers are still not sure which substance in coffee is responsible.

Data indicate that tardive blepharospasm is a type of dystonia disease (referring to involuntary muscle contraction), people between the ages of 40 and 50 are susceptible to this disease.
