Beijing pilots the construction of international medical service package of traditional Chinese medicine

　　On December 30, 2015, the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine International Medical Service Package Construction Work Conference was held. The Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine will select a group of medical institutions with strong traditional Chinese medicine service capabilities to pilot international traditional Chinese medicine medical services. Strive for each institution to launch a medical service package with 1-3 characteristic diseases as the core, clear treatment plans, promising results, estimable time, full-process services, and reasonable prices.

　　The pilot selection scope includes all traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, tertiary general hospitals or specialized hospitals, and diseases with obvious treatment advantages of traditional Chinese medicine are selected as the diseases in the service package. The pilot provides medical services with complete treatment plans, clear clinical pathways, good quality control measures, and appropriate treatment courses that can show short-term effects and have few side effects. The various services provided will be combined into service packages to form an overall price.

　　Each institution will also provide foreign language and other support services, smooth consultation and information services, and provide information services such as medical consultation and medical treatment arrangements by dedicated personnel, and provide agency services such as hotel reservations, travel arrangements, and medicine mailing. There is a full-time receptionist to form a complete service chain.

　　The Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine will provide financial support to each pilot, carry out centralized guidance and publicity, and ensure medical supervision. Through promotion through platforms such as the Beijing International Trade Fair, we strive to achieve the goal of Beijing’s international TCM services exceeding 15,000 visits per year.

　　The Beijing International Medical Tourism Research Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established at the same time as the Guang'anmen Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. The center aims to study the development plan of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine medical tourism, carry out research and promotion of service standards, organize training for personnel from participating institutions of Traditional Chinese Medicine medical tourism, build a cooperation and promotion platform for Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine medical tourism, and promote the formation of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine medical tourism service brands.
