Bloody red leucorrhea may be related to ovulation bleeding, cervicitis, endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids, cervical cancer and other factors.
1. Bleeding during ovulation
A brief drop in estrogen levels during ovulation may cause part of the endometrium to shed, manifesting as leucorrhea mixed with a small amount of blood. This condition usually lasts for 2-3 days and does not require special treatment. It is recommended to keep the vulva clean and avoid strenuous exercise.
2. Cervicitis
Cervicitis caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae or chlamydia infection can lead to contact bleeding, and the leucorrhea is often purulent and bloody. It is necessary to use doxycycline hydrochloride tablets, azithromycin dispersible tablets and other drugs as directed by the doctor, and at the same time cooperate with Baofukang suppository for local treatment.
3. Endometrial polyps
Endometrial overgrowth caused by estrogen stimulation may cause intermenstrual bleeding, and intrauterine space-occupying lesions may be seen on ultrasound. It is recommended to perform hysteroscopic polypectomy, and drospirenone and ethinylestradiol tablets can be taken postoperatively to prevent recurrence.
4. Uterine fibroids
When submucosal fibroids compress the endometrium, they can cause irregular bleeding, which may be accompanied by increased menstrual flow. Depending on the size of the fibroids, you can choose mifepristone tablets to shrink the uterine fibroids or undergo myomectomy.
5. Cervical cancer
Cervical cancer caused by human papillomavirus infection manifests as contact bleeding in the early stage and foul-smelling bloody leucorrhea in the late stage. Diagnosis requires cervical biopsy, and treatment includes radical hysterectomy combined with cisplatin injection chemotherapy.
It is recommended to wear breathable cotton underwear, wash the vulva with warm water every day, and avoid using alkaline lotions. During the period of bleeding, sexual intercourse and bathing are prohibited. If the symptoms last for more than 1 week or are accompanied by lower abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms, you should immediately seek medical attention for gynecological examination, HPV testing, vaginal ultrasound and other examinations. Maintain a regular schedule and appropriately supplement iron-containing foods such as animal liver, spinach, etc. to prevent the occurrence of anemia.
