  The human cervical spine is composed of 7 cones and maintains a forward physiological curvature. Each cervical vertebra forms three joints with its adjacent upper and lower cones, namely the joint formed by the intervertebral disc connection and the articular convex joints on both sides. The cervical spine, which is only 15 centimeters long, contains 21 joints. This physiological characteristic determines that the cervical spine has a large range of motion and is also easily sprained. Among the 15 centimeters of neck joints, a problem with one joint will cause great discomfort to the entire neck.

  Each of the 7 cones has its own functional characteristics. The first and second cervical vertebrae control the left and right rotation of the head. When all the joints are overlapped, the head is bent backward, and when relaxed, the head is pointed forward. The physiological structure of the head is not suitable for twisting because rotation will produce unnatural pressure on the neck, which over time can lead to early degeneration, pyramidal joint ankylosis, cervical sprain, and even disc herniation.

  Suggestion: During the warm-up phase, our head only needs to move in three interfaces, bending forward and backward, side bending, and rotating left and right. Try not to superimpose any two interfaces during movement. Also, doing neck exercises every time you warm up is unnecessary and will only increase the chance of joint damage.
