Peeling puffballs are mainly produced in Liaoning, Gansu, Hubei, Jiangsu, Hunan, Guangxi, and Anhui; large puffballs are mainly produced in Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Qinghai, Jilin, and Hubei; purple puffballs are mainly produced in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Jiangsu, and Anhui. Harvest the fruiting bodies in time in summer and autumn when they are mature, remove the sediment and dry them. Remove the outer crust, cut into cubes, or grind into powder and use raw.
