Causes of left varicocele

The spermatic venous plexus is divided into three groups: the internal spermatic vein, the ejaculatory duct vein, and the external spermatic vein. There are common branches among the three groups of veins that are consistent with each other. The vein most closely related to the disease is the internal spermatic vein, but it can also invade each vein group. So, what is the cause of the left variceal veins? The cause of the variceal veins is related to the following factors:

1. Anatomical factors: congenital defects or insufficiency of the spermatic vein heart valve, which spreads in a plexus-like pattern. The smooth muscles or elastic fibers of the vein wall are underdeveloped, and the supporting tissue foundation around them is weak. The venous blood is easy to backflow, which is the direct cause of varicose veins. The return path of the left seminal flexure vein is different from that of the right one. The left seminal flexure vein rises along the back of the abdomen and enters the left renal vein in a vertical direction. The right seminal flexure vein directly injects into the inferior vena cava in an oblique angle. The stroke is short and the return flow is smoother, so fewer varicose veins occur.

2. Young people have strong sexual function, and the blood supply to the prostate is extremely rich. For example, male reproductive organs often become swollen and hard, and excessive sexual indulgence can easily lead to stagnation of the spermatic veins and varicose veins.

3. It may also be caused by forces above the veins, such as retroperitoneal tumors, renal tumors, hydronephrosis, constipation, etc., which prevent the return of venous blood. This is called pathological varicose veins in clinical medicine. Because the pampiniform plexuses of the upper and lower testicles communicate with each other, the left spermatic varicose veins and the venous gas pressure increase may also invade the right seminal varicose veins to form bilateral varicose veins. In addition to causing general clinical manifestations, varicose veins can directly affect reproductive ability and cause infertility.

Causes of disease in traditional Chinese medicine:

(1) Deficiency of the liver and kidneys due to congenital insufficient natural endowments, insufficient kidney essence, or excessive sexual intercourse, frequent sexual experiences, depletion of kidney qi, inability of essence to generate blood, liver blood deficiency, and even muscle and collateral weakness, and multiple disharmony leading to disease onset.

(2) Stagnation of liver qi and uncontrolled emotions, depression and anger damage the liver, loss of liver function, qi stagnation, and blood stasis. Qi stagnation and blood stasis lead to blood stasis.

(3) Excessive diet, alcohol, fat and sweet food can damage the intestines and stomach, produce dampness and accumulate heat, cause dampness and heat in the lower burner, suppress qi and drain yin, and cause blood stasis.

(4) Experience dampness and cold, living in a humid environment, going out in the rain, eating raw and cold food, or feeling cold after sexual intercourse, the evil of dampness and cold invades internally and stagnates the liver veins.

(5) Super strong snatch, standing for a long time, or trauma to the private parts, causing damage to the tendons and blood stasis.

TCM pathogenesis:

Its pathogenesis is mostly caused by liver and kidney deficiency, multiple disharmony, and congestion and stagnation. The main symptoms are closely related to the two meridians of the kidneys. This disease is caused by factors such as injuries from sexual exertion, emotional instability, or dampness and heat in the lower Jiao, etc., which cause obstruction of the blood and Qi movement and weaken the tendons and collaterals. The meridians of Foot Jueyin run along the genitals, and the liver governs the tendons; the tendons of Foot Shaoyin are tied to the genitals, and the kidneys govern the two stools. Therefore, liver and kidney deficiency and stagnation of liver qi are the essential pathological basis of the disease. Over time, the blood congestion will stagnate, the collaterals will become blocked, and even multiple twists and turns will appear. This is a characteristic of syndrome differentiation and treatment of this disease.
